Results of Roscommon Closed Competition

Following a great day of badminton, our club was well represented in the Final!

Brian came 2nd to Timmy Clogher (Dysart) in the MS, 

Brian along with Eugene also from Boyle won the MD's, beating fellow club member Seamy who partnered Donal Mee (Four Roads). 

In the XD's Boyle came out on top again with Deirdre & Eugene getting gold.

County Finals

Boyle Badminton Club are hosting the Roscommon County Finals on next Sunday March 30th in the Sports Complex at 2 p.m.  Castlecoote and Four Roads will contest the H final, Dysart and Kilteevan the Novice Final and Boyle will take on Ballygar in the G Final. The Boyle team captained by Tom Cox,  includes Liz, Deirdre, Martina, Nicola, Seamy ,Rudi, Eugene & Brian. Best of luck to all!  Feel free to come along and lend your support.  Tea & sandwiches will be served on the day.

Connacht Intercounty Competition

Best of luck to Seamy & Liz who are playing on the Roscommon team in the Intercounty Competition taking place in Castlebar today Mar 22nd. They will be playing against Galway & Mayo.

Triple Title For John!

A big Congratulations is due to our 5 members who competed in the Connacht Masters last Saturday in Galway.  Each member returned with a trophy or medal or both!  Well done to John Kiernan who won his Singles event beating Cormac O Connor (GLTC) in a very close three-setter. In the afternoon he partnered Cormac to take the MD's title. And In the evening he partnered Ruth to take the XD's title. Seamy partnered Audrey o Toole  (Galway) to win the XD's title in his category.  Bernie & Ruth came 2nd in their LD 's.  In the evening Bernie & Paul went on to win the Mixed doubles plate. Very well done to all!!

Roscommon Closed Competition

The Roscommon Closed Competition will take place on Sat March 15th in Scoil Mhuire Sports Complex. 

Singles commence at 10 a.m, Men's/Ladies Doubles at 12md & Mixed Doubles at 3 p.m. Mavis 2000 shuttles will be used for All events.  Players can provide own feather shuttles if they wish!

Connacht Masters Badminton Competition

Best of luck to our members Ruth, Bernie, Seamy, Paul & John who are taking part in this competition on Saturday Mar 8th in Galway Lawn Tennis Club.

More Success!!

BThe All-Ireland Club Cup Badminton  Championships were hosted recently in GLTC. Club members Bernie Lavin & Ruth o Hart joined up with Sligo Tennis Club for this competition playing Ladies Doubles. The team beat University of Limerick in their 1st game and went on to beat Galway Lawn Tennis Club to secure the All-Ireland C Cup. Congrats!

Connacht Senior Closed Grade A

 The Connacht Closed Grade A Competition took place in GLTC recently. Our Club players that took part were very successful, Ruth o Hart partnered Aine Lenighan (University Limerick) to win the Ladies Doubles Event. Ben Gallagher Lynch partnered Jack o Brien (Ballina BC) to win the Men's Doubles Event. 

Ruth and John Kiernan were unlucky to lose the Mixed Doubles Final to a strong pairing from (Sligo/Galway). Well done!
